Published December 3, 2013; Last updated 11/04/2014

Florida residents may soon vote on an amendment to legalize medical marijuana. The proposed two-page amendment can be viewed at the website http://www.unitedforcare.org/.

Cannabidiols (CBD) are the compounds in marijuana that are reported to have a wide range of health benefits. Cannabidiol is “a major non-psychoactive component of the marijuana plant (Cannabis sativa).” A review published via the National Institutes of Health states,

“…These studies have suggested a wide range of possible therapeutic effects of cannabidiol on several conditions, including Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, cerebral ischemia, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, other inflammatory diseases, nausea and cancer.”
