October 2, 2016 – The Little Flower Citywide Pro-Life Committee hosted its annual Alpha Center Baby Shower and Fundraiser. Alpha Center, Inc. is a local pregnancy resource center that has been helping mothers and babies for over four decades. They have served thousands of women, providing understanding and loving counseling during what may be a very difficult time. Their trained counselors listen to clients’ concerns in strict confidence and provide non-judgmental care. Alpha Center’s services are available to anyone, married or single, regardless of age, race, religion or income. Alpha Center’s counselors can help connect clients to appropriate agencies for medical care, legal assistance, financial aid and adoption information. They will stay in touch with clients even after their child’s birth, through their follow-up program. All services are FREE to the client. No charge.
The Little Flower Citywide Pro-Life Committee is pleased to support the Alpha Center’s efforts through events such as this baby shower, as well as the “baby bottle drive” fundraiser and diaper drives. I would like to personally thank all of the donors, supporters, and volunteers who have helped to make this baby shower/fundraiser possible. Because of you, on October 2nd, the committee donated:
– Over 4,000 diapers
– hundreds of baby clothes, blankets or other items
– 24 beautiful handcrafted layette baskets
– 12 Pack n’ Play playpens that can be used as cribs
– diaper bags
– many children’s toy items
– and monetary donations of $593.06
I would like to thank the Knights of Columbus Council 13389 for their very generous monetary donation ($250) as well. Many thanks for the volunteers from the American Heritage Girls Troop FL 7145 for your assistance in making this event a success. These wonderful young ladies volunteered several hours to assist with this event. Thank you to the members of the Little Flower Citywide Pro-Life Committee, especially Mark and Janice Farmer, Ingrid Kane, Trisha Bosso, Anna Bosso, “JJ” Bosso, and Cindy Ace, for your hard work pulling everything together. I’m proud to be a part of such an amazing team. I wish to also give a very special thanks to Fr. Eugene Casserly and our new pastor, Fr. Matthew Worthen. Their support and assistance has made the Little Flower Citywide Pro-Life Committee’s mission possible. In addition, I would like to thank our wonderful Bishop Gregory Parkes who has been such a blessing and really supported the pro-life movement in our diocese – supporting events like 40 Days for Life, the Rite of the Blessing of a Child in the Womb, pro-life rosary and prayer vigils, Respect Life Sunday and the annual Roe v. Wade Mass for Life.
Sincerely, Jeremy Bosso
